Named for one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, these hybrid teas stand out in crowd! The rich yellow blooms, composed of up to 25 petals each, open to 4½ inches in width, offering a sweet, subtle fragrance.
Sturdy, but slender ovoid buds produced prolific flushes, which appear throughout the summer months, covering much of the contrasting foliage. The leathery-leafed shrub grows 5 feet in both height and width.
Perfect for cutting, the blooms develop on stems of 18 to 22 inches. Highly versatile, Henry Fondas flourish in the ground or in large containers and thrive in beds and as borders.
Pruning is required in the spring, trimming the shrub to half its height or about 18 inches off the ground. Old canes and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross each other should be cut.
In warmer climates, the remaining canes should be cut by one-third. More trimming is required in colder climates.
