ROXANNE

Roxanne’s flowers are the color of milk chocolate, shaped like a “candy jar,” with pale yellow-green edges on the petals. It has a strong fragrance and is widely loved. The plant has a uniformly round shape and moderate growth, making it ideal for planting along garden edges or in flower beds. Roxanne blooms year-round and has excellent disease resistance, especially against black spot. It can be treated with pesticides after pruning five times a year to maintain its beautiful foliage throughout the year. The timing of pesticide application includes after winter pruning, when buds begin to swell, after the first round of flowering, after the second round of flowering, after summer pruning, and after the second flowering in autumn. Under good growing conditions, this rose is rarely diseased; even if some leaves fall off, new buds will grow quickly, producing new branches and leaves. Because this rose grows horizontally, sufficient space should be considered when planting, and it is also suitable for potted cultivation. This rose is named after the heroine of Edmund Rosstein’s classic comedy, *La Dame aux Camélias*. Data Source: Kimura Takuko
