KUROCHO

Kurocho (Black butterfly), a Japanese floribunda rose variety, was released by Keisei Rose Horticulture in 2005. The plant grows to 100 cm tall, with flowers 8 cm in diameter. The flowers are a deep blackish-red, with a delicate fragrance and a unique, stylish shape that is very attractive. Even though it’s a black rose, it won’t get sunburned. When it blooms, it turns into a rosebud and then a dark red color. A distinctive feature is that the surface of the petals turns blue, a bluish-green hue characteristic of black and red roses.

The weakness of red roses is sunburn, but Black Butterfly is resilient. A robust and healthy variety with excellent petal quality and good flowering. The plant is compact and easy to grow.
